In meditation, mindfulness is giving ourselves completely to our breathing, or whatever the exercise is. Mindfulness is giving full attention to the present, without worries about the past or future. So often, we borrow trouble from the future by constantly thinking about what might befall us tomorrow, instead of dealing with one day at a time.
LOOKING AT YOUR PROGRESS By recognizing our progress, we will feel spontaneous confidence in our own ability. So, to give ourselves a chance without yielding to doubt and fear is the best way to gain confidence. After practicing for a while, if we feel discouraged or tired because of how far we are from the goal of our spiritual journey, we should look back at our life in the days before we started training and celebrate any progress we have made.
